Prenatal Yoga – Every Tuesday 6.00-7.15 pm

Pregnancy

Yoga and Mindfulness Meditation provide wonderful support for women during pregnancy through focusing on breath, a calm and centred state of mind, finding space and  softness within and connecting with the developing baby.

Led by experienced yoga instructor Beatriz Davila, classes are informed by quality expertise, providing care and consideration for the expectant mother. TEACHER_BEATRIZ

Prenatal yoga provides meaningful ways to:
• Connect calmly with the baby in a nurturing environment
• Cultivate stillness through meditation and breath awareness
• Open the body through gentle stretches for birthing
• Strengthen to assist with labor
• Connect and share with others

Classes are open to all with no prior yoga experience required. Designed to specifically support, connect and prepare for birth.

Autumn is the perfect time to set these challenges for your yoga – work with the vata and excess energy in our environment, shake off what’s no longer required before it stagnates and draw yourself inward in preparation for winter.

Easter at the studio

The studio will be closed over the Easter weekend.

To give some nourishment before heading back to work, school, life… we’ll be offering a 6 pm restorative class on Monday night, including a guided yoga nidra session.

Love to see as many as possible to enjoy this yogic renewal. Safe and happy holidays to all our community.

We know it’s not quite time to hang up the bathers and fold away the silky kaftans, however, as Autumn will soon approach, we are turning our focuses towards tailoring our practice now to prepare for the months ahead. Autumn suits practicing at a slower, smoother pace, emphasising steadiness whilst encouraging a shedding through cleansing breaths.

Let’s remember to warm up well to prevent injury as the body may feel dry and stiff. We can work with visualisations to encourage fluidity. Be present and mindful throughout these final summer moments when bathing in the warm waters, warming the bones through the sun’s heat… capture these sensations in the cells to reignite feelings of softness and lightness during the cool and dry months.

Other tips leading into Autumn:

  • Keep the breath deep and calm, warming within
  • Don’t over do it! Let’s make our practices strengthening whilst not draining, so as to be healthy and strong the whole year through
  • Look for fluidity in the postures. As we move gently let’s bring some safe rotations in the joints and playful movement in the spine
  • Focus on the foundation of the poses for stability, grounding through the toes, the sides of the feet, the base of the fingers and palms to feel fully connected

Set up a routine today:

  • Contemporary dynamic vinyasa yoga to energise and connect with the warming breath

  • Weekly restorative yoga to nurture, calm and release

  • Basics to get foundations and connections in place, setting up a practice with integrity
